Abu simbel in Aswan

Abu Simbel is an ancient Egyptian archaeological site housing two remarkable rock temples built during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II in the 13th century BCE. The Great Temple of Ramses II features colossal statues of the pharaoh, while the smaller Temple of Hathor and Nefertari honors the goddess Hathor and Queen Nefertari. These temples were relocated in the 1960s to avoid submersion by Lake Nasser, showcasing both ancient grandeur and modern preservation efforts.
